    Bunny safe dig boxes

I live in Illinois where winters feel like Alaska and summers get up to 100 sometimes. I don't want to keep my girl in the house all summer durring those nice summer days. I found a post on pinterest where someone got sand (it wasn't too fine) and created a sand dig box. I want to get a turtle sand box for her, but I want something that I can put in it that will keep her safe. Any suggestions on something I could keep in there for her to dig in?
