Hello! I am a New Piggie Owner of two boys. One is a little older Abbyssinian and the other is a younger Peruvian. I just discovered today this mark on My Older one, it almost looks like teeth marks. I don't know if the younger one bit Him cause they sound like they fight, possibly over cage dominance or if it's parasites.

That's picture's too far away and too poorly lit for us to tell much about it. Can you post a close-up taken in good lighting?

What size cage are they in? Boars need a lot more space than sows do, and lack of space is a major cause of guinea pig aggression.

I could definitely do that. The cage is 50 inches, it's a Living World one.

Yup, that looks like a bite. Keep a very close eye on your piggies, especially the one that got bit. In my experience, bite wounds have a tendency to abscess.

I looked it up, and that cage is definitely too small, which could be why there was a bite. https://www.guineapigcages.com/index.htm

Don't worry though! You can make your own cage using coroplast (aka corrugated plastic), grids, and connectors. https://www.guineapigcages.com/howtometric.htm

I'd suggest checking out the cages portion of this forum for ideas. :)

Should I clean it at all or just leave it alone?

Definitely clean it. It will become infected otherwise. But you also need a much bigger cage or this will likely happen again. Males need more room than females and tend to fight otherwise.

I second CavyMama. Make sure you clean it 2-3 times per day (that's what the vet had me do for a similar wound one of my boys got when they hit adolescence) and watch for abscesses. They feel like a ball or lump under the scab. How's your little fella doing?

What should I clean it with? I'll definitely work on getting a bigger cage for them. They're both doing very well! His wound seem to be getting much better. And they seem to be getting along well too.

Saline from a drug store can work. That's what I used when my boy had a bite wound that was not abscessed. How are your little guys doing now?
