    Re: Questions About Your Piggies

I am looking for a list of supplies to get for floor time, I already have the toys and a comfortable bedding like a blanket or fleece. What else do I need, for guinea pig satisfaction?

You may already have this item, but I would have a box or something for them to run into if they get scared. If you use the grids for a floor time cage you could make a fleece forest on one end of the grids. Since they are prey animals they need a place of safety for their own peace of mind. Of course, I'm sure you already know to mount a water bottle for them. Some members hide little pieces of veggies around the cage to give the pigs something to look for.

When my pigs are out for floor time I often sit in the enclosure with them and read. They seem to enjoy the company. Hopefully, your pigs will be different but my pigs just aren't all that excited about floor time. They mostly just sleep in their enclosure and occasionally walk around and eat a little of the veggies that I give them.

I see so many pictures of pigs running and playing during floor time and I always feel so jealous. I guess I just have lazy pigs. Lol!

Is there any grids in the guinea pig cages store I can buy? Or should I use the grids from the original cage?

Why don't you look at Guinea Pig Cages Store and see what they've got? http://www.guineapigcagesstore.com

    Re: Questions About Your Piggies

Is a midwest cage perfect for two guinea pigs? I am thinking of upgrading to a bigger cage for them. I made a list of things that can keep the guinea pigs happy like a midwest mezzanine, two pigloos, a fleece forest, and more. I already have a couple things my guinea pigs can enjoy themselves in, but since they are going to grow bigger soon I might as well get a bigger cage.

A Midwest cage is quite small and is not a good size for two guinea pigs. You'll be better off with a 2x4 c&c cage.

You can find materials to build your own cage.

The cage is barely the minimum for one pig, never mind two.

Pigs don't need a mezzanine, they need a flat space to run in.

Don't use pigloos unless you cut another hole in them. They're just invitations for one pig to trap another and get its nose slashed. The air circulation in them is terrible, and the pig just winds up breathing the vapors from its own waste.

Yea, I was wondering about that pigloo if it was good to get one or not. I was unsure about that mezzanine if they really need that or not, thanks.
