Last year one of my piggies, George, passed way.
We had been back and forth to the vet, but in the end his little body just gave out.

Yesterday I came home to find this letter in my mailbox from my vet's office. And it had me in tears.

I have been to vets before that made my pigs seem like an afterthought rather than a priority.
I am so grateful to have a vet now that, even in death, remembers and honors my piggies.

I just wanted to share this. It touched me deeply.

That's sweet.

My vet donates a tree to a local reclamation area in honor of each pet that passes.

That's a wonderful thing to see, Kim. Its so very nice to see a vet that puts thought and effort into the little details, that make their extended family realize that they are important to them. Even after they're gone.

I received a similar condolence letter from our local animal shelter, after we had to euthanize both of our cats within a short period of time a few years ago. It was a small detail that meant the world to us.
