    Careless Rant on Canadian supplies??

Why do these grids seems to be SO MUCH cheaper everywhere else but here?
3 cubes from Wal-Mart - $21.93 (13 grids but only 10 are usable as 3 have grids that are too large)
4 cubes from Bed Bath and Beyond - $29.99 (17 grids, all usable, but my local BBB doesn't carry it and I have to go out of province and pay a $50 bridge fee to come home)
    4 cubes from Canadian tire - $49.99 ( 17 grids, all usable )
6 cubes from Amazon.ca - $39.00 (23 grids, all usable, best value im guessing)

    While the US Amazon lists
    4 cubes $18.00
    6 cubes $29.49
But $57.02 Shipping & Import Fees Deposit to Canada

Just a rant from a Piggy mom in Atlantic Canada who wants to build a piggy paradise...
(I'm going to drop the cash on the Amazon grids so don't worry my pigs will get their space)

Books are the same way -- far more expensive in Canada.

You could use Walmart grids if you put the ones with the big holes at the back of the cage and put coroplast or all the way up that side of the cage.

As a Canadian myself, I also find this annoying, and think that even with the dollar changing between the US and Canada (18 dollars US, is 22 dollars Canadian, it still makes no sense! Sure we are "further north" but with technology these days, there shouldn't be that much of a price difference!

When I bought my first set of grids, back in 2011, it was $30 for the box of grids and connectors. Then last year, I went looking again, as I had to expand my cage to separate Sly from the babies. Same box of grids and connectors was $50!

So in 6 years, the price went up by roughly 40%. That's pretty ridiculous in my book.

Well I think I found a solution! I went to my local home depot and pi ked up wire shelving for closets. Its 4ft long 16inches high and was 14$!! So I picked up 2, and plan to attach it to my existing c&c configuration with some zip ties. So my advice is look for wire grids in the form of shelving!! Sure it's not as customizable , the 14" cubes can make all sorts of shapes but the shelving came in different lengths, 2ft, 4ft, and 8ft, and different heights 10" 12" and 16".

I think Home Depot will cut wire shelving to any length you want. At least they use to. I haven't bought any for a while.

My Home Depot and Lowes both have wire cutters attached on a chain next to the closet shelving so you can cut any length you want.

Same here in Australia. There is some on ebay but they are the 8 grid ones. 4 cubes ones are $35+ postage. I recently scored big time with someone selling heaps of 9x9 grids 6 box ones for $25 each and they live 5 mins away!
