I've gotten this log, for guinea pigs, in the past, and been happy with it. Lately, they look less 'realistic' and reddish in color, now? Does anyone happen to know why it looks different?

I have one of those for my pigs. Got it about 5 years ago, and it's that same reddish colour.

They don't chew it, and as soon as they grew up they don't bother with it. They used to run through it when their chunky little butts would fit.

They're made with molasses, so they really aren't the best for pigs to be chewing, anyway.

I could be wrong but I?ve heard these are really bad for guinea pigs. I use buy the one with the suet in it with hay and some sort of seeds in it labeled for guinea pigs and but not the hollow ones. Ended up throwing it away as soon as I found out they can choke on seeds and the log part is supposedly made from some sort of glue.
