Chewing wooden cage, guinea pig won't stop chewing on it.

hello, i just bought a wooden cage and my guinea pig won't stop chewing on it!
is there any way that i can stop him from chewing? or is there any non-toxic materials i can use?
the cage size is perfect, and he has a wooden chewing thing but since i bought this cage he won't chew on it and he'll keep chewing the cage!

You'll have to line it with something so he can't get to the wood -- plexiglass or grids would work, although he can chew the grids if he chooses.
