    I think they have lice

So I'm not sure what to do. I can see stuff in their fur and I'm worried. I made a vet appointment but it's not until next Saturday. I just wanted to know if they will be ok until then. I live in Japan and the vet is in the next state over so the best time to go is on the weekends and I'm hoping they won't have to many problems before then. Any helpful advice would be nice. Also they are about 2 months old and short hair. I haven't given them a bath or anything.

I tried to get a picture but it's not showing up well. It looks like little pieces of dust in her fur but they are not coming off. She also squeals when I go near that area to much. Maybe just uncomfortable in the butt region.

Thanks. I'm hoping that is what they are and nothing more.

If you can find ivermectin there, you can treat them yourself. You should be able to get it -- it's available pretty much worldwide to treat various parasites, including internal ones. And it was first discovered/made in Japan.

See https://www.guineapigcages.com/forum...mites-and-lice for more information. There are links to Guinea Lynx in there that have lots of information about ivermectin.

Thank you. I'll check and see if it's avaliable. They are pretty strict on what we can get over the counter (I can't even get critical care without going to the vet or paying $80 on Amazon) but I'll try. Thank you again for the help! I will go look for it in the morning!
