While keeping an eye out for a companion for my lone male I'm considering a spayed female if that may make getting alone more likely.
The lone males cage is going to be directly below my paired boar cage so I'm just wondering if the other boars will just smell that a female is around and get aggressive with each other of if that would only be a problem if an un-spayed female were nearby and went into heat?

A spayed female is not likely to cause problems. If she's been spayed, there'll be no odor to attract the males.

Excellent thanks, that's what I thought but I didn't want to assume. That'll broaden the selection of potential cage mates a little.

If you can't find a spayed female, you might consider having your male neutered. Neutering is a much less invasive operation than a spay, as well as being easier on your pocketbook.
