    Aversion to petting

My 5 week girl who we've had for 2 weeks now suddenly does not want to be pet at all. Everytime we pet her she shakes her head and the hair around her neck puffs up. Has anyone experienced this sudden change of loving pets to not wanting to be touched anywhere at all?

She is SO very young! At that age they haven't developed enough to really understand that petting is an affectionate gesture. Perhaps you are petting too vigorously? Be patient, be gentle, and she will come around.

It just felt so weird, she would talk and purr when we were petting her. Now she hates it. Literally overnight. But i'll keep patient
