    help bending grids for ramp

    Hello Everyone,

I am trying to make a ramp for my cage using spare grids but I can't bend them. I tried stepping on them to bend them but It always makes them too narrow in the middle so pigs can't get thru them. How do I bend them so they are wider in the middle?

You're going to need 2 people and a stair, preferably one outdoors or in the basement made of concrete. Keep about two thirds of the grid on the step, have the heavy person stand on the grid on the edge of the step, and have the lighter person step on the remaining third of the grid

Start by putting the grid(s) in a 250⁰ oven for about a half hour. (yes, I'm serious). Find a piece of a 2x4 board for the task. Use a pair of heavy work gloves to handle the hot grids. Lay the grid on the floor with the "outside" down.....meaning the outermost wires that frame the grid. If the grid breaks or the wires separate from the grid when bending, you likely bent it the wrong way.

With the grid lying on the floor, lay the 2x4 in the middle and stand on it. Pull the sides up until you achieve the desired shape.

I use the bent grids covered with an extra large book cover to create tunnels.

I have a thick pole in my house and just bent it around that. It took some work, but we got it
