All i ever see is 2x5 and smaller and occasionally some 2x6 without cage stands, i would really like to see 2x6 cages with cage stands or extra tall cage stands, im going to be recieving mine soon for my two girls and would really like some inspiration!

Before my back got really bad(I had two laminectomies) I preferred the doubled grid high stands. Now i have to sit while cleaning the cage, so I have the one grid high stand. I really miss having my box of hay and the hay hamper under the cage.

100_0658.jpg100_0678.jpgThe sturdiest cage I have had no matter the size used both the connectors and lots and lots of zip ties.

So i'm deciding between these two designs, with the large space under this one Screenshot_2016-02-23-12-59-13.jpg im not sure about how sturdy it would be, but if it will be sturdy enough i could put the old cage down there and let them in that one when im cleaning the main cage.
However with this design Screenshot_2016-02-23-12-59-04.jpg
It would be more sturdy and allow for extra storage space.

Im really looking into the double tall bases because its really difficult to reach the back of each slot area, and it also makes the cage more easily accesible i believe
(Sorry for the terrible designs, im not used to this program haha)

I'm on my 4th 1000 count bag. I get them at home depot. I like your second cage idea with the huge opening in the center. I would get a 2x2 and have it cut to 32" long pieces. Take 3 space them out and run them under the base and through the side grids to support the base in the open area. That is what I did but I used wonder bars from the store when I had my 3x cage.

Did you knit your pigs into those fabric pieces? That is ADORABLE! I wish I had talent like that.
Actually I got them for $10 each from a shop called Susie's spot on etsy. Once you order them she ships them within a couple days and they arrive by the end of the week

I have my cage in the ground because I like being able to get in and sit with them. It also allows easy access to the back corners when I'm cleaning. It obviously wouldn't suit everyone's needs but it works well for me.

@lunarminx what is your bedding here? Also how do you make your fleece draped hidey spots? I love how that adds the cuteness of fleece without all the fuss!!!
