@bpatters @strayhares @anyone who will help! She's in labor! I believe there is one baby. I want to be in there to make sure everything's okay but I don't want to stress her out!! What do I do?! I would have to turn on the light in our office. I want to be there in case she needs to go to the vet or anything!!

We have four babies I believe!!! Mommas cleaning. I can't really tell. I hear purring. I've seen all four move and I'm just hoping and praying that they all make it

Momma and babies seem to be doing okay!! I'm so so so relieved. I'm going to leave her to let her do her thing. When can I come and just tidy up? I want to refill her water bottle get them more hay etc.

How do I know that Hash Brown isn't losing to much blood? Her rear end is stained red. Now she is white on the back and she sat through four babies and the afterbirth. I just want to know when should there be cause for concern?

Yay, congratulations! I was guessing she would have 4 (she was huge).

If she's continuing to bleed, then worry. If she's just spotting, she may do that for several hours, and that's normal.

Alright peeps! I got some photos and some weights. Momma had a salad of green bell pepper, cilantro, 2 slices of cucumber and green leaf lettuce. Has been eating hay as well. Haven't seen her drink yet but I'll watch for that. image.jpgimage.jpegimage.jpgimage.jpg
So the weights are as follows:
Baby 1: 111g
Baby 2: 88g
Baby 3: 104g
Baby 4: 98g

I feel like for having four babies all have some seriously good weight to them! I'm so in love with all of them. I'm going to check sexes tomorrow but will recheck closer to 21 days. I love them all so much already. I don't know how anyone could mistreat these precious little babies.

@bpatters sorry. Last question for tonight. They seem cold. The babies are huddled together in the corner and mom is covering them with her body. Normal? How can I make sure they stay warm?

Drape some fleece across the corner of the cage. Make it just large enough for all of them and the mom to get in. The fleece will hold the heat in.

Happy to report all of the babies are up and moving! I believe I have two boys and two girls. It's so hard to tell. I'll be taking them to my cavy savvy vet in three weeks to have them sexed correctly. I'm already planning out the new cages for them and I couldn't be more excited.

Ah, that's trouble times four right there. :) I'm glad they're all doing well, and you're right, for a litter of four they have good weights.

@Rywen they all hide in the house :( it actually makes me really sad. They are all terrified. The brown and the red are probably the two I will keep!
