Behavior New guinea pig

Good evening everyone

As you may know me and my wife have not had a guinea pig for a few months now because we lost her to bloat. This last weekend we got a three-month-old male. He is doing very good and we are planning on taking him to the vet to have his check up in the next week. He seems very scared right now and does not really like us picking him up or playing with him. In you all's experience how long does it usually take for a little male guinea pig to happy and comfortable playing with him.

Hi Roger - I have a 5 month male named Randy. He was super shy and skittish when we got him. Surprisingly, after about 3 weeks he became used to the sounds and activity of our house and began to show his face. We have had him 6 weeks now and just this afternoon he was laying down in his cage hanging out, not even in a hidey house (granted I was the only one here, no noisy kids)! He also used to squirm like crazy when you held him, but again today he sat on my lap calmly for a good 10 minutes. So hopefully your new guy will come around soon!

BTW, what's his name and can you show us some pictures?

Well I have always had boys and every pig is different. But Casino took about a month and a half but that's because I did some strange methods that seemed to work.
