So I took my two girls to the vet their Myco flared up again but because they are old the antibiotics just aren't doing anything anymore.

Myco or mycoplasma is a bacteria lacking in the lungs cell wall usually the rats own immune system can keep it at bay but because they are older rats and this is the second time it has flared up with me (I am not sure if it was ever active when they were with the previous owner) I adopted them.

a little about myco

what was prescribed was doxycycline and baytril. which it hasn't done anything.

I am so sorry to hear about this. I know someone who had two rats suffer with this. Apparently it's prevalent in rats, smart wee ones. I'll keep your little one in my prayers.

Have you tried going to rat forums to see if they have any suggestions? Each species is different so I think that might be a better place to get advice for rats. I hope they can help you. Good luck.
