Hey everyone!
So there's a pair of female rats at my local shelter, and my family is thinking of adopting them. I just have a few questions about rat care!

1. What size cage do they need? They come with a cage (I'm not sure of the dimensions), and I want to make sure it's large enough.

2. What kind of bedding do they need? I'm currently using carefresh for my guinea pigs + hamster, however I also have the fleece and towels I used to use for the pigs. Are either of these good? Is one better than the other?

3. What food do they eat? Like store bought food, and what treats can they have? Is there a list of safe foods (i.e. veggies) for rats like we have for pigs?

4. Water bottle or bowl? If bowl, how big should it be?

5. What do they need in their cage in terms of hidies, wheels, etc?

6. Are there any rat forums that you know of?

Thanks so much for your help! If there's anything else you think I should know, please add that too! My parents have had rats before, but it's been years, and they may not have had the correct info.
