Alright, so I really want to get Lemon a bigger cage, but in the mean time should I remove the house? She absolutely loves it but I feel it makes the cage seem smaller.

Yes, the house is too big for the cage.

To maximize the cage space, use towels or fleece draped in the corner to make a tent. This way your pig can run through and hide under the tent.

Take the plastic connectors/brackets off and use the top to extend the sides to make the cage larger. Use zip ties to attach them together. Instead of the tray, use a plastic table cloth or shower curtain for a base and it won't matter if the sides are square.

Never thought of that. Hmmm.. I was thinking when we moved to make her a free range guinea pig :)

Is that a Tommy Marchioro cage? I had some of them and took them apart and reused the sections. They're really easy to take apart and put back together if you change your mind.

The problem with where I live there is a lack of safe space for that. Kids running around and clumsy adults. Hopefully Lemon can soldier it out for another month when we move (single room cottage with tons of safe roaming space).

Is she potty trained? Some pigs only go in one spot naturally, but it's often difficult to free-range guinea pigs because they like to use the bathroom wherever, whenever.

Not yet. She goes everywhere. Except for when the house was in there, she never did anything in there.
