Vegetables Cucumber skins

Hello!

So, this treat doesn't seem very common, but giving your piggies JUST the cucumber skins is really good for them!

My guinea pig prefers just the skin more than the actual fruit of the cucumber!

Plus giving him the skins works out for everyone because we like to eat our cucumbers skinless and Domino LOVES his cucumber peels!

And I think it's good for is teeth because they are so thick!

And we grow cucumbers with really tuff skins, so we never even care for the skins.

Not all cucumber skins can be given. If the cucumbers are waxed (look really shiny), the skin should not be fed.

I know my girls love cucumber and they do prefer the skins over the middle.

In my area the English cucumbers are never coated in wax however the field cucumbers are almost always coated so I tend not to buy them.

This summer I want to ask my Mom to grow some field ones in her garden, this way I know they are wax and pesticide free.
