Hi everyone,
I am sorry i know there are a ton of threads about accidental pregnancy, but i couldn't find one with all the information I needed.
First off, I got Penni and Piper on 12-30-14. They were from people who had got them from Petco for their 10 year old, who of course lost interest in them. At the time they were 7 months old. About 3 weeks after that, I took them to the vet because I suspected they had mage mites. The vet said he didn't know for sure but prescribed ivermectin anyway. He didn't notice anything unusual about them at the time. At that visit Piper weighed 512g and Penni weighed 720g. 5 weeks later (today) Piper weighs 737g and Penni weighs 907g. Could they just be growing even though they are almost 9 months? The previous owners did not say when they got them from petco or if they had been in contact with any other guinea pigs. I will attach some pictures. The black/white one is piper and the brownish-orange/white one is Penni. I can feel baby-like lumps on the bottom/side of them. I can also feel and see movement that I would guess is babies kicking. Do you think either of them are pregnant? Also, I was reading about dystocia and I was wondering if that will affect them? Also, what are all the things that can happen during labor and what should I do if anything occurs? Thank You for any responses I have been worrieing nonstop and trying to get some piece of mind. thank you for you answers and everyone is so nice on this forum so thank you sooooooooo much!!!!!!!! Also I have oxbow young guinea pig diet (alfalfa based) coming in the mail tomorrow because i here pregnant guinea pigs need more calcium and vitamin c. I have been giving them daily: lettuce, green/red peppers, cilantro, parsley, kale, carrots, and sometimes little bits of fruit
