    My boars' current c&c cage!

The original c&c cage was a 3x1/2 in grids, which was clearly too small for my two boars. So, I expanded it to a 2x4 in grids! Sadly it's the biggest I can get it because of floor space in my room. (So please don't lecture me on the cage size. ) However, I am thinking about adding a second floor as a kitchen so the boys don't have to make a mess on the fleece with their hay.

I took this picture a week ago after I just got their fleece washed. I would take a clearer picture of the whole cage but their fleece is scheduled to be washed today and I haven't done it yet so their cage is a mess right now.

Looks great! They must love the extra space. The only thing I would suggest would be to get a larger hay rack, since that one doesn't look like it holds much and you want to be sure they always have plenty of hay.

A 2x4 is fine for compatible males. I had a male pair that lived in a 2x4 and they never squabbled. They were two of my most bonded guinea pigs. The senior passed away but the other one is 6 now and lives with a 6.5 year old female.

@pigger123 Thanks! Yeah, I'm sure they do. I caught Jupiter the other day doing laps around the cage for the first time. It was interesting to watch. And yep, I kinda had second thoughts about the hay rack. I'm probably gonna go look for a larger one (or get two), or make my own if I have to.
@pinky Ah that's nice! Sorry about the senior, I'm sure he's having a splendid time at the Rainbow Bridge.
@pineapplepigs Thank you! I ordered them online at Bed, Bath, & Beyond. They're pretty light, and might get some piggies interested in nibbling at them, but luckily my boys barely touch them!

@RockieGuineaPig go to etsy.com and look up PeeWeesPiggyPalace.. She sells hay bags. They're $20, but I promise you they're the BEST!

Just a word of caution, I had my pig get her neck stuck two times in one of Peewee's hay bags. The thin strip down the middle of the holes was tightly around her neck. I let PPP know about this and she's never had this happen in all the years she's been making them. I cut off the middle strip and can still use it. High quality products, super cute, but I just want people to be aware of the risk.

I want to add to the awareness-of-risks of hay bags by saying I had one that I made in my cage and my girls chewed a nice big hole in the corner of the bag, which for obvious reasons (eating strings...) is a big no-no. So if your pigs are chewers, just another word of caution.
I found a clearanced bird ...what are those feeding blocks called? I found some wire thing that holds one of those bird feed blocks in it on clearance at some point and have been using that as a hay rack. Before that, I used cardboard boxes with holes cut out, zip-tied to the cage.

A bent grid makes a fantastic hay rack, but of course that wouldn't really work with the type of grids you're using. @sabrinaxceleste, I think you're referring to suet feeders.

A shower caddy can make a really good hayrack, too. I got ours at a thrift shop for $2. Shower caddies come in lots of shapes and sizes but the one I got looks like it was made to be a hayrack! I'll have to get a pic of it to post. I got the idea from someone on this site before I joined, I wish I knew who so I could say thanks!

@RockieGuineaPig I love those grids, too. Off to BB&B's site to take a look!

Nope, my Mocha's a full grown adult. I was so glad I was there, so we know she wasn't trapped for very long. It was just such an awful experience. Mocha was extremely freaked out and so was I.
