How to teach pigs to use 2nd floor?

I have just made a new cage for the pigs, and this new cage has a second floor. But they really does not want to try to go upstaires. Even if I put food up there, and lift them up, let them eat a bit, and then put them down staires again, they wont even go near the ramp. What do i do? The cage is made from plexiglass, and removing second floor will be lot og work, so i really hope they will worm up do the idea of a second floor kitchen... Anyone who have experience with similar problem?

My pigs are to male 2 years and half year.

English is not my mother tounge, so sorry for any errors.

My guineas where the same way. I just kept putting food up there and showing them how to get up and letting them get themselves down. After a few days, they realized they could go up another level. That's where their hay, water and food is kept.

Give them a few days to get used to the ramp. You can try to lead them up and down by holding a treat in front of them, so that they figure out they can go on the ramp.

My boyfriend taught mine how to go up their ramp by placing them in the middle of it and placing a piece of tomato (their favorite) up at the top. That forces them to either go up or scurry down backwards. It took my one pig almost a week to go up and down on its own. Be patient! Good luck!

yeah from personal experience, it just takes time. Like what pigger123 did, i would lead my guinea pig up using treats and i think that sped the process up vs. lifting and putting them up there. They need to learn the path to get up to the 2nd floor. Good luck!

Also make a trail of treats up to the second level, use something that has a strong smell so they want to go check it out. Marigolds, parsley stuff like that
