    Building new cage?

When I made my C & C cage it took 3 weeks to get coroplast which didn't even cover the whole thing, so I took a coroplast sign we had, washed it, and cut it to place on the bottom. When I build my cage to a 2x4 when I get another piggie, I was thinking why not cardboard. My coroplast never gets wet since I place towels down where I think she'll pee so I can do the same with cardboard. Plus is my cardboard ever gets wet I have endless amounts because my dad works in a warehouse. So should I cover half of it with cardboard and the other half coroplast or the whole bottom with cardboard? (My top level will stay the same with coroplast, and thats where she pees the most too so I'm not worried about it)

I've seen people use cardboard covered w something like a plastic shower curtain, that could work! But I wouldn't just use cardboard. Even if the coroplast never seems wet it still gets urine on it it just dries before you notice. Cardboard alone will absorb odors and will be very stinky

You should be able to get 4' x 8' sheets of coroplast at home depot. Don't bother asking them for coroplast when you go in the store -- usually none of them know what or where it is. Just ask them where they keep their plexiglass. There, right next to the plexiglass, is where they keep the large sheets of coroplast.

Ok thanks! I'm actually thinking about using either my store bought cage or the cage of the person who I'm adopting from and attaching it to the other end.

    Good luck!

Oh, it is possible that you may have to try more than one home depot. Not ALL will carry it, but if those that do will keep it by the plexi.

Type in your zip code to see if they have it in stock.

4x8' sheet here are $10 - $20. See if you have a branch near you.

Plastic shower curtain will work too, if you use fleece. You just need something waterproof to protect your floor.

    Re: Building new cage?

Turns out I have to wait a couple of weeks since my parents think it's unnecessary for another guinea pig. But they said in a few weeks if I ask again they might change their minds! (Hopefully!!!) Thank you guys for all the suggestions though!
