General Guinea pig seems like having issues while pooping

My guinea pig seems like doesn't poop normally. I realize he poop non-stop while sleeping, and he also loves to lift up his butt before a poop. I thought he's having constipation or like the first stage of anal impaction since he always poop 3-4 poo in one time.

I just adopted him in the last 2 weeks, he is 1 year 2 months old Abyssinian and very skinny with full of fungus on his ear for the first time I've seen him. I have already cleaned it up and try to gain his weight by giving him a proper diet.

Honestly, he did great, until suddenly he becoming skinny again. He doesn't lose appetite, or stop drinking water except his love to sleep a lot, but the thing is nothing can make him gain weight again. Is there anything like this you guys do experience before? Btw, he has got Bumblefoot lately on his both hands.

Please help me. I really appreciate it so much.

This is his poo while he sleeps top on my chest. He sleeps and poop at the same time.

This is Timmy, the one that having this issue. Help him, please.

Is he blind? Are his eyes smaller than normal? If so, he's a lethal white pig, and they have severe digestive issues.

You say he's becoming skinny again. Do you have a scale to weigh him with? If so, how much does he weigh, and how much has he lost?

Adult guinea pigs gain weight slowly. I wouldn't expect a large gain in two week's time.

The poop looks normal to me. What makes you think he's not pooping normally?

I'm not so sure if he's blind. How can we tell if the pig is blind or not? What do you mean by smaller than normal? How's his normal eyes usually? I didn't have a weight scale to scale his weight, I just assume his weight getting loose, because if I can feel his backbone.

My other guinea pig pooping normally, but he's always pooped in different length & size. That's why I afraid if he sick or something. He is still not recover from hair loss. I really worry about it. :sad:

You can tell if he's blind by whether he runs into things, particularly when he's startled.

Google guinea pigs and click on Images at the top of the page. Compare his eyes to the eyes of normal guinea pigs and see if your pig's eyes look smaller.

Also google "lethal guinea pigs" (without the quotes), and compare his eyes to those eyes. Lethals will always have smaller eyes, and sometimes none at all.

You need a scale. It's the most important health item you can have for your guinea pig. Loss of weight is often the first symptom that something is wrong, and guinea pigs can go downhill very quickly.

Pooping in their sleep is totally normal.

What makes you think he has bumblefoot? Can you post a picture of his feet?

Also, can you set him on all fours and take a picture of his face and eyes and post those?

I didn't see his eye look unusual. Seems fine to me though. I'm just scaling his weight by today, he's 600g. Is it normal? For the past two weeks, I'm not so sure, his weight before, so, do I need to wait another 2 weeks or months either he loses weight or not? He seems like doesn't have fungus anymore, but like I said, he doesn't make any improvement. The Bumblefoot is getting worse than before. For now, I just sterile his foot with Epsom salts by twice a day. It's kinda hard to find a specialist in Small Animals at my Country, as they always focus on cats & dogs. That's why I'd try to find another alternative to cure him

I just realize he had Bumblefoot around a week ago. I'm not really sure, what happened to him, but when I ask my friend, she said, Timmy had Bumblefoot. At first, his Bumblefoot are not that bad.

But a week later (today), I see his wound are getting worse. Is there anything I can do, except sterile his wound with Epsom Salts? Because that's the only thing I did for now.

Yes, he does have bumblefoot. Soaking with epsom salts is fine, just rinse carefully afterwards. You can also put some cold pressed virgin coconut oil on his feet if you can find it.

But I still want to see a picture of his eyes and face.

Are his teeth normal?

As for his weight, 600 grams for an adult boar is absolutely tiny. On average adult guinea pigs weigh somewhere around or between 800 grams to 1200 grams, and it isn't unusual for some boars and sows that have longer frames to weigh up to around 1300 grams. At just 600 grams he is well below average. If you feel down him do his bones (such as his spine, ribs and hips) feel very prominent? If so he is definitely underweight for his frame.

His right & left eye (with & without flashlight).

His face.

His teeth seems like to have something in the middle, but idk what it is.

Btw, I see his results have bald (maybe the cause of hair loss).

I can feel all his spine, ribs, hips, he is underweight.:sad: I'm not so sure about the weight range for a normal guinea pig (boar or sow), but for what I've been told, if the guinea pig is from local (not imported), so the chance of their weight might be a little bit down above the average. However, I really hope if he can gain more weight, at least until he's become ideal.

If his teeth are funky, he definitely needs to be checked out by an exotics vet, and possibly syringe-fed to get his weight up. Good luck! I hope his feet feel better soon, most important thing is keeping them clean.

His teeth look fine, and he's not a lethal.

Oats are not generally recommended for guinea pigs, but they are high in protein. Some people have had luck getting a guinea pig to gain weight by sprinkling a few rolled oats on the daily veggies.
