We use a 1ml syringe. I think if she isn't eating at all she needs to be fed every few hours. You dont want her gut to go lock up. Forget the term for it.

The term is stasis. If she is gasping for air she is likely already critical.

I used a 1ml syringe, filled from a 15 ml syringe. The mixture has to be thin enough to be fed from a 1ml syringe. As it cools it will thicken so don't be afraid to add water. And yes, if she's eating nothing else at all, she needs to eat roughly 15 ml every 3-4 hours

Be VERY, VERY careful syringing into her mouth. Don't push the syringe straight in, push it in to one side where her molars can chew. If it's too thick and you have to push too hard, it can all come out at once and choke her.

I don't know if this is a good thing, but she is eating a paper plate. I put a salad in her hospital cage to see if she would eat it, and 40 min. later, she chooses the plate. :/

Yes, I managed to get a little bit of food into her, 2 tsp, Her breathing is still rough, but I have another concern. She has not urinated or defecated in almost an hour now.

Only an hour? Don't concern yourself with that right now. She's going to get water with the pellet slurry, but you can also syringe her water the same way. Again, take care not to choke her.

How long HAS it been since she refused to eat?

5:30 CT was the last time I saw her eat.

So about 3 hours then?

I know this has been rehashed before, but weighing your guinea pigs on a regular basis is absolutely essential.

And when they're on antibiotics or other medications, it's critical. It's the ONLY way to know if your sick pig is getting enough to eat. Not eating for 3 hours isn't as bad as you think. Not eating for 12 hours is not good. But weighing them is a must. I don't want to sound like I'm being mean here, especially in light of her current condition. But weighing her regularly is an absolute necessity.

I haven't done anything. You've done everything, with a little coaching. I just hope it's enough. Me and my boys are sending our positive energy to Brownie. Fingers are crossed.
