Grooming Crusty eyes?

She's acting normal. She eats, sleeps, poops, no noisy breathing. Ever since I got my guinea pig, her eyes have been a little crusty. I watched her for a while and after she grooms herself, the milky liquid goes into the outside of her eye and kind of dries up. Could that be the crustiness?

But what are some critical signs of a URI, she's a had this for a very long time

The signs of a uri are

Refusal to eat or drink
No feces (as a result of not eating)
Labored breathing, wheezing
Sneezing, coughing
Crusty eyes, eyes that are almost sealed shut
Discharge from eyes or nose
Dull and/or receding eyes
Rough or puffed-up coat
Lethargy, hunched posture

My guess is that she has a blocked tear duct. You can very very very gently massage the area just under her eye a couple of times a day with a warm washcloth and see if that helps. Be sure to get in the corner close to her nose, as that's where the duct drains. If that's what the problem is, the massage should clear it up within a couple of days.

So its not a URI? She doesn't have any symptoms besides the crusty eye. How can I massage it she won't let me touch her face

I read that URI crusties are yellow. The massage worked and her eyes is clear. The crusties were clear in color which make me think that it was cleaning fluid.

I said it could be not that it is a URI I would keep an eye on it though to see if it remains clear

She's a less than two pound pig. You're many times her size and many times her strength. Hold her head with one hand, and wipe with the other.
