I already called the vet's office this morning, but I am still waiting on her to call me back. She normally sends me home with a info about what they have been diagnosed with, but with everything that was going on I think we both forgot! Chewy is not happy whenever I have to put meds on his leg, I can tell he is uncomfortable with it. Will keep you posted, thanks! as for the staph being spread to me, I am concerned... but much for so for my other piggies and dogs. They are my first thought, as always!I would use the ointment on both spots 2-3 times per day for at least 4 days to see how it's going. 4-5 days can be a general treatment span. If you're not certain of what your vet told you you can always call the office to verify the diagnosis is staph. If left untreated and messed with (by your piggy) a staph infection can go deeper into the tissue and abcess, and that is a known issue for guinea pigs, abcess infections. It has been shown that staph can be transferred from animals to humans, as well.
