Hello! On my next door neighbor app, I came across this post. I kind of laughed at the description but then I wondered, could the animal she’s describing be a skinny pig? If not, any other ideas? It’s just such a weird animal that she’s describing.

Sure sounds like it's a skinny pig, or a Baldwin. I would send her a picture and ask if it's similar. If it is, ask her to take it in and call a shelter or SPCA. It won't last long under her deck.

I sent her a picture of a skinny pig. I also told her to call an animal shelter if it is.

Yes I got an answer. Apparently it’s definitely not a skinny pig. Some people are saying naked mole rat? In the middle of Virginia?

Im thinking a cat with severe mange. Anyway I told her to call animal control.

yeah, I’ve seen them at the zoo. I’m pretty sure that naked mole rats don’t live in Virginia. But anyways, they creep me out a bit.
