I ordered 45 lbs of bluegrass hay from KMS. It's beautiful, every last piece! I also ordered 25lbs of TC Pellets.

Yay! I just got 5 lbs of blue grass and it is fantastic hay! Much much better than last years, which I have now tossed out.

It's not soft but the cool thing about it is it's long strands compared to other types of hay so Mooshy eats it like a spaggetti which is fun for her. You can ask for a sample, don't know if they would send it on it's own or with something else you'd buy though.

That's exactly how Juniper and Andromeda eat it! Its not so much soft as it is fresh, sweet-smelling and very green. Much longer strands than the oxbox hay was, and my girls seem to love it!

If you haven't tried bluegrass, I'd suggest ordering just a small batch of it and see if your pigs like it. Mine totally turned up their noses, and I wound up giving a whole big box to a friend with a rabbit.

Mine is suppose to be here Tuesday. I ordered Bluegrass and the new batch of 2nd cut Timothy. I hope it's beautiful. Feels like my poor pigs haven't had beautiful hay in forever.

Burgess xl pellets are not the best guinea pig pellets available in the uk, they are very bad actually. Try Jr Farms Grainless complete guinea pig ( zooplus.co.uk) bunny guineapig dream (zooplus.co.uk). Supreme vet care (amazon.co.uk) is also an ok pellet but not as good as the other two.

Wow, now I'm interested in ordering this. I looked on their website and it all looks great. Would you say it's cheaper ordering from KMS than getting them from your local petstore?

Pet store hay is by far the most expensive way to buy it. You'll pay two to four times what it would cost you to order it online from any of the major hay companies. The cheapest way to get it is from a local farmer or feed store -- you'll pay $10 - $15 for a whole bale. The middle cost is online. But you should be able to find local hay where you are, and you can't order KMS because it can't be shipped over the border.

@Wolfess221 I see you are also located in Ontario and unfortunately ordering from KMS is insanely expensive. If you're in Southern Ontario the best place I have found hay at is a pet supply store called Ren's Pet Depot. There's one in Waterdown, Guelph, Burlington and a few other cities.

They sell 50lb boxes of Oxbow's Timothy Hay for $59.99. They also have Orchard grass up to 9lbs for $29.99. I however special orchard 50lbs of Orchard grass for the same price as Timothy hay.

As far as local hay goes, I haven't found anything acceptable. Everything seems to be a mix of Timothy and Alfalfa which isn't good for pigs over 6 months.

Yeah I just discovered the price...my eyes nearly flew out of my head! I can't really locate anything near me unfortunately, so it looks like I'll have to keep buying from Petsmart.

The Oxbow hay that @sallyvh mentioned is $1.20 a pound. The cheapest hay Petsmart Canada has is $9.99 for 24 ounces. That's $6.66 a pound. How is that cheaper?

Sudbury is definitely way to far north to get hay from Ren's. The only big Canadian online retailer I know of is canadianpetconnection.com you can get 50lbs of oxbow hay there for $60 but I'm fairly certain there is a shipping charge. It's worth checking out though as it could be cheaper per pound to buy it bulk from there compared to petsmart.
