Feeding a cat or dog a vegan diet is the most rediculous thing I have ever read about. Sure, they can survive off it, but they will not thrive off it!! Their physiology screams meat, meat, meat. It's the same thing as trying to get a human to eat only meat and animal products, which I am sure there are people out there who do live that way, but they are not thriving; that type of diet is what I call a "survival diet". I have also read that a dog/cat can live well as a vegan, as long as you are feeding them plenty of the proper contains and minerals. If a person/animal has to consume manufactured vitamins and minerals in order to stay healthy, they are not eating the right diet. When one eats the right diet, they do not need to take supplements.
I understand why people decide to feed their animals this way, but in the long run it is damaging on the pet.
