Double decker cage... girls up top and boys are on the lower levels. Its currently a 2x3 with lofts but it's going to expand to 2x4 in January when I order new coroplast and make some new liners.

Thanks, Its a ferret hammock I got on sale. I have two now. They take up a lot of room though and they fight over who gets the hammocks. I tried to get three but the third one had a defective base so I gave the hammock part to a friend for her pig. And now the pet store doesn't sell them anymore *sadness*

LitaRutherford where'd you get the red bed that hangs from the black frame? Or how'd you make it? It'd work great in my cage, thanks.

First c&c cage I ever built. Simple for now, but will have a 2nd floor kitchen soon along with a treaded ramp. My boys love the room and started running around and popcorning the second I put them in there. They seem to be using the litter box pretty well. I've got a fleece forest, a little hidey tunnel, a chew toy, chew sticks and a nice big litter box with two racks of hay, their food dish, and water bottle. In the future I will complete the 2nd story, add more hide spots, and get a few more toys in there. It's a work in progress!

Here are my goofy piggies in their new home! lol

Girls got their bedding change yesterday. I also moved one of the columns to about the center of the 5th/6th grids, this weekend. The support I had before was bugging me.

OK I really need to ask this....are you guys doing poop patrol before taking most of these pictures or do my piggies just poop an abnormal amount? I swear my two boys poop a ridiculous amount daily but this is my first time owning piggies so I have nothing to compare it to. Please tell me you're sweeping your cages before taking these pictures lol

I love your cage! The walls just look so pretty and decorative and very sturdy! Is that bamboo? And do your pigs try to chew on it?

That is a ferret hammock. I think the company is Marshall. I am not sure if they make that kind anymore, I got it from my pet store but they discontinued carrying it. They LOVE it. The first one (pictured) is fleece and some other material, but I got a second one that isn't fleece. The fleece is a pain to keep clean. So if you find one, I'd try and get the non fleece. They like them both equally. >.> If you have multiple pigs with similar tastes, multiple hammocks may be required. Just a warning. XD My three argue over the two all the time.

Thank u! Yes, it is bamboo and thick tree branches. My pigs tried to nibble, but because bamboo has such a smooth surface, it made it difficult to chew so they gave up.

My Christmas present from Hubby is a new cage for the pigs! It is partially complete! And I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Here are some progress shots so far! As you can see (from the original corflute bases) it is a fair bit bigger than their current/old cages.
Just sat their old bases inside it last night...

Have finished expanding the lower cage for Wayne and Trunk tonight (note there is a fold up fence that closes when I'm not there to supervise!)

Hoping to finish the expansion of Ulysses and RickyBobby's cage tomorrow night!

I always do a clean up before I take picture of the cage. My girls poop constantly and everywhere. Our favourite expression in our household is "If piggies pooped gold we'd be Trillionaires", lol. I usually scoop poop 4 times a day, but this weekend I missed the Saturday night before bedtime scoop and Sunday morning when I got to the cage I couldn't believe how much poop was in the cage. My two girls are "Poop" Stars. Oh well, as long as it is well formed and the right colour, we can be happy, cause we know their insides are working like they are supposed to. :D

Yea, I always do pictures after I've cleaned the cage or right after laying fresh fleece down. It's actually gotten worse lately. They have a fleece forest and now whenever my husband is by the cage, he calls it the poop forest. Even though I clean their cage at least twice a day, if not three times, every corner is thoroughly stocked with poo pellets, and they refuse to use their kitchen/litterbox as the main poo area.

That's why this time, I'm opting for shavings covered with a layer of hay to keep the shavings from flying out when they run around. A freshly clean fleece is gorgeous, but depending on your number of piggies, it can be a lot of qwork keeping it clean.

The dark blob in the centre is Wayne straddling a frozen ice brick! We are getting some very hot summer days down here in Aus!

I know this is a bit dark! But I tried to use the panorama shot thingy on my iPhone...

Ulysses and RickyBobby live up top and Wayne and Trunk live on the lower level! I have still got to hook up a lighting system for the "basement boys" ;)
