Trixie's Cage!
I had to change it as it was getting really hard to clean.

so this is my before and after. first try so please.....let me know what you think... i am going to expand and get coroplast soon i hope. working on it... this is their before cage...the one we were given them in.014.jpg
and this is their new home..... i know there are no toys, houses or anything in it yet. i am going to be adding them thursday. where they had such a small cage i didn't want to put anything else in it, and i wasn't able to go to the pet store today to grab anything either. will be doing my weekly trip there on thursday....so..... will be spoiling them then. 014.jpg015.jpg012.jpg013.jpgnext i will be getting something for better support as to not take up the middle of their cage so much. i am super excited about this. i am hoping to upgrade their set up next week. it should be lots of fun :)

@MrWhistles , @CavyMama , @farmersdaughter , @Nix16 , @RodentCuddles , @Xeygwyn, @Ownerof2 : Stop the petty, childish attacking and arguing in this thread or face the consequences. @Ownerof2 is caged and cannot respond without his/her posts being moderated - the highly childish arguing and attacking you've done has been removed from public view. Get over it and move on. You are not 12 years old, stop acting like it. If you continue this pettiness, there will be problems. It's a thread for posting pictures of cages and has been completely derailed by this silliness. Move on, and if you can't, take it up with me personally.

I finally finished it!
After havin the PEFECT amount of grids. Running out of zip ties. Running to Walmart for more zip ties. The cage is finally finished.
The cleaning should be easier on my back. The very top of the cage comes right under my rib cage. I am approx 5' 5"(for anyone who wants a comparison). No more bending down to clean or catch piggys!

I took photos with my phone so they're not the best quality but it shows both cages. Diglett and the boys' cage is 24 x 56. I overlapped the grids so we could squeeze between the cage and the table. Both cages are in my dining room.

This cage is 28 x 56. It used to have a 2x5 on top and a 2x4 below cut I cut down the top level after my senior female died and there were only two in this cage.

@pinky how many grids did it take to make that cage? I now have boys and girls and the boys are in a pet store cage right now because I can't figure out what to do with them. This would work perfect and still fit where I have the other girls' C&C cage.

@farmersdaughter just at a quick count I think it would take 40 grids if you don't use grids on the base of the bottom level or 48 if you do, I'm sure @pinky will be more specific but I think that's about right.

Sept 17 (3).jpgSept 17 (5).jpgSept 17 (8).jpgSept 17 (17).jpg

This is our new set up that we did this past Sunday. It is 2 grids by 7 grids and houses our 2 girls, Bella and Mya. The kitchen is 2.5 by 2 at the one end of the cage. It has their hay rack, pellet bowl, veggie bowl, & 2 water bottles. They have 2 stool hideys, 3 log hideys, and 2 pigaloos. The base is 1 grid high and cage walls are 2 grids high to keep out my elderly cats (both of them have athritis so they can't jump any more but I wanted to be safe and not sorry). I have a fold down side for easy cleaning. The girls are enjoying the extra space and were doing lots of zoomies last night. :)

Thank you, after three different set ups, I'm finally happy. Easy cleaning and lots of space for the piggies was the goal.:)

@ldrew7 do you not use bedding in your litter box or was it just not filled when you took the photo?

I will probably never be happy with my set up... I like thinking of new things to do .
