how many hiding spots do you have? I have two (3-4 year old) females and have one spot that is a bent grid with fleece over it and a fleece forest for them to tuck away in. I originally had two bent grids with fleece but thought it took up to much floor space. Is the bent grid and fleece forest ok for them to hide away and still have alone time from each other? I just want happy piggies

It would look much nicer if I hadn't got tired of using wall paint for all the little details, but this is my new cage. Each of the two bottom levels are 8'x3'. I made this cage for 200 dollars and am also making a 4'x3' hamster cage with wood I bought at the same time. I also made all my own liners to fit the cage with uhaul and fleece. I'm going to clean up the random paint splatters with sanding. The doors are on hinges and the water bottles in holders I made.

The second picture is the cuddle sack I made my dog. I make them with one inch thick batting in them. I also hadn't top stitched the liners to keep the uhaul from moving yet.

These little boys and girls have us whipped! Hubby and I spent all weekend making them a double stacked 2.3x7 foot cage (girls on bottom, boys on top) and I just spent two of my days of spring break making them new liners. We just love spoiling our babies.

I also made my liners myself because it was so much cheaper that way since the new cages were so big. Can I ask what you used in the middle of yours? They look very neat like fleece flippers do.

In each cage I have 3 30 in x 30 in pads. I cut regular bath towels the same size. I put the 2 layers of fleece right sides together, then the towel on top. Sewed the 3 pieces together and left about a 6 inch hole. Then you flip it right side out (so the towel will be in the middle and the fleece pieces on the outside). Then sew up the hole that was left. I did them in pieces instead of a whole liner so I could only change out the dirty ones (just like the fleece flippers). Sorry if that was too much info (since you obviously know how to sew) but I thought this might help someone else, too.

Not too much at all. I ended up using uhaul because I didn't have any bath towels on hand. I did the same thing but used two liners in each cage and I flip them over if I need to.

Awesome! I didn't have any uhaul and there isn't one near me, so I improvised with the towels. Lol. How big is your cage?

The post above your original post of your cage is mine. I have two that are 8 feet by 3 feet. Two pigs per cage.

Oh I saw that one! It was so cool! Males or females in your cages? Have you finished the hamster cage? I just love the cuddle sack you made for your dog. How do you make it stay open? I made one for my piggies but it just falls flat.

Well the trick I use for the cuddle sacks is upholstery batting. It's about an inch thick, so with the rim folded back about two inches. My pigs love using it as a mattress, but the opening is so thick they can get back in even though it's squished. Something that might help you though is putting foam in the entrance. I have males and I haven't finished the hamster cage, but the design will be 4 feet long and thirty inches wide with two levels. The top one will drop off into a pit of bedding and there will be a sand room on the bottom level. It will have sliding glass doors. Thank you for the compliment! I make my cuddle sacks using two rectangles to make a sack, and then I square the bottom corners to help it stay open also. Looks like a brown paper shopping bag at the bottom.

3x5 C&C Cage! I previously had two midwest habitats connected. I went with a 3x5 rather than a 2x6 so that I could still easily use the liners I had already bought for the midwest. The 3x5 fits 3 midwest liners wonderfully! I already love this cage soooo much more, and so do the piggies! I am wanting to add a 3x2 loft sometime soon :)
