I can't wait. My aunt called me today and told me that the person she got Salem from still has a male left from the litter her sow had. So I'm going up tomorrow. Salem seems so quiet. He stays in his igloo a lot. I know from experience that's from loneliness. So I'm curbing it tomorrow. I'm trying to think of names for the new little guy and nothing. I'll just wait till I see him. Sticking with the Halloween theme.

Also the sow was not intentionally bred. She was a pet store pig that was housed with males.

Thanks for the suggestions.
You're not bad it. Better than the name my brother suggested. Weenie.

Ya I can't wait. I was wondering where I was gonna get a cage mate for him. But now I know. Do you guys know if they'll get along right away? Like a family reunion type thing? (as long as it's nothing like my family's reunions.) I am planning on cleaning the cage and EVERYTHING tomorrow to descensitize (sp?).

You will have to introduce them like any other introduction, they have been separated so they will not still be bonded as they once were. They have a chance of bonding straight away or they could start a fight off, It is just as unpredictable as putting any pigs together.

Pigtures!

ETA: How big is your cage, is it big enough for two boars to get along (even when they hit puberty)?
How old is the new guy? Are you planning to do quarantine?

The cage I have is a larger petstore one in the process of being expanded. By the time he comes home tomorrow I'm hoping it will be done. Just have to pick up the coroplast. The new guy is from the same litter as Salem so 5 weeks. And I am planning on quarantine.

At 5 weeks it is a young age and I personally would skip quarantine as young ones need others around them. I personally do not think it is good for them to be alone at a young age.

I like that. It's alot better than Weenie.

When I was young I never said Halloween it was Helpaweenie. My brother had me confinced that was the pronunciation. Go trick or treating so the neighbours could Help-A-Weenie. Being me
