I washed the old one that was in the cage well, since I made the ramp! It wasn't dirty or anything, I just figured it was time to give it a freshening up. And while it was washing I needed a new one, so off to the sewing machine I went.

I made this, a double sided flannel run for the ramp that has stitching every 4 inches or so to give it a bit of traction.

I think it turned out pretty good! And my pigs are fine to go up and down it too.

I took a piece of flannel the size I wanted (double over) then put the right sides together. I laid a piece of batting on top of that. I sewed around three sides (with the batting on the outside still) and then turned it right side out. I turned the raw edge in and sewed it closed.

I hope that made sense!

Thanks for the great idea. I plan to start sewing my own fleece flippers tomorrow as well as some other items for my piggies. I love seeing everyone's creativeness!

Every few inches I just quilted along to give some traction.

I like that they can't eat it, and I can wash it. Every other material I've tried has been peed to mush or eating to bits. No more foam, rubber or plastic in this cage!

Love this! How did you get it to stick to the ramp? Velcro I am guessing? Think I will be doing this tomorrow ;) Thank you for the awesome idea!

I honestly couldn't be bothered to whip out the velcro, @Melissa123 I literally took a piece of duct tape 4 inches long, and stuck it on at the top. I have heavy liners (with coro inside) so I know the pigs can't get to it to eat away.

Thanks! I have carpet tape, so I am thinking this will work the same as the duct tape then. :)
