not sure if this has been discussed but I'm in the process of starting to make my own cage liners, I currently have a 2x6 C&C with two lofts on each side that are L shaped (2x2x1x1x1x1), the closest u-haul store is in Kitchener and I'm hoping to find something a little closer as an alternate. I've heard that Zorb could be used instead? If I were to find that, how much yardage would I need? I'm very new to sewing so have no clue to measurements/yardage, etc...any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you order uhaul online in Canada? If there is a local store, maybe they will ship it. I have a feeling it would still cost less than using zorb.

As for measurements, measure the bottom inside of your coroplast. Plus whatever other areas you want to sew liners for. For each liner add about another 5" inches for shrinkage, seam allowances and having the liner go up the wall about an inch on all sides. If you are going to do two layers of zorb/uhaul then double that amount.

You can google CM to inch and it will bring up a calculator so you can plug in numbers but if you want to do the math yourself:

1 inch is 2.54 CM

1 foot is 12 inches

1 yard is 3 feet or 36 inches.

zorb is typically 45" wide, so it will be 1 yard 9 inches wide (or 3.75 feet wide) by whatever amount length of yards you buy

Uhaul padding is 68"x85" per pad, which is 5.6 feet x 7 feet long

I'm not quite sure what you mean by 2x2x1x1x1x1? Perhaps a picture would help.

Couldn't you just order the u haul pads on uhaul website. That's what I did, out of all 8 u haul places near me sell u haul pads. Ours only let you rent them so I had to order mine online.

@Starthecavy123 to order online a credit card is needed right? Unfortunately I don't have one available at this time... :(

Can you get a hold of a visa gift card or something, that's what I do cause I don't have a credit card either. I get ones from visa or there is also master visa gift cards. You use it just like a credit card and it works the same way. On the back of the gift card it will have a 3 digit CVV number just like a credit card.

A 2x6 is 84.5 inches long and a uhaul pad is only 85, so it might not be long enough. Aside from that, one pad would cover your whole cage and loft, plus some extra. If I were you I would probably order two just in case. That is, of course, if you can get uhaul. If not, 3 or 4 yards of Zorb would work but that would be a lot more expensive.

good point and don't forget shrinkage. You will probably need to stitch the uhaul together to make it long enough for a liner big enough for the cage.

It might actually be the easiest, for sewing and cleaning, to make 6 separate 2x1 liners and liners for the lofts. That way, you wouldn't have such a HUGE piece to work with.
