    Re: coraplast joining

I also use duct tape. You can get it in different colors so it looks prettier. :) A good quality mailing tape will also work in a pinch.

    Re: The Rat Mansion

I checked online, and apparently we don't have any Shopko's in Florida, so I guess I'll just have to wait until Linens N Things has them. Thanks again for all your help! I really may have to copy...

Re: Need second level / ramp help!

When I added a second level for my girls, I put their hay up there along with a favorite pigloo, and a trail of cilantro along the ramp floor. They figured out how to get up and down in about fifteen...

    Re: The girls' new cage!

That's true; I have it that way so they can run through/underneath it while they're doing their laps. The height is only a few inches, so they can easily hop up onto the ramp to go upstairs. I figure...

    Thanks for all your comments!

Philja - feel free to steal it! ;) If you need any other photos or info on how I built it, let me know. I'd love to post a few photos in the galleries, but I've been...

    The girls' new cage!

I've not been having much luck trying to post photos in the galleries, so I thought I'd make a thread in here. :)

This is a new cage design I've been working on over the past couple months. I've...

    Re: The Rat Mansion

$12.99... wow, that's a really good price! I wish I lived in North Dakota. :) Is the clearance sale still going on, or did you get these awhile ago?

Thanks a bunch for all your help!

    Re: The Rat Mansion

Beautiful cage! We may be getting a couple of rats soon and I would love to make them something like that. I really don't think the pet store cage we had for our previous ones is large enough.

    Re: going outside?

Mine love clover, and I have never had a problem with it, but they've only had small amounts at a time. I had never heard of it being poisonous. Thanks for posting that link, JarBax. As you said,...

Cavy-cool-crazy - I love that tunnel! It seems like there is so much nicer a selection of large hideouts and tunnels in the UK than there is here in the states. A friend of mine from England sent me...

    Re: 3x6 for rabbit, ok?

Maybe overlapping the grids slightly and using zip ties to hold them together instead of connectors would make the roof less saggy?

Good luck on your cage! 3x6 sounds like a wonderful size.

    Can't post photos

Recently I've been trying to post a photo of my new cage in the galleries, but whenever I've clicked "Upload/Submit," I get the following errors:

Is this just my computer acting up, or am I...

No, I didn't see the caption, but now I've read it - thanks! :) Did you glue the railings on the inside or the outside? And did you just use a regular hot glue gun? Is there any way the pigs could...

I like the doormat idea. Seems like it would be easier on their little pads than the gritty tape. But do they wee much on the ramps? I'm just worried that it would get all smelly, especially if it...

    Ramps

Sometime in the near future I hope to remake the girls' 2x4 cage to add a small second level and make the whole thing look nicer. I used to have a two-story 2x3 in which I used a hanging cloth tunnel...

Re: 2 Guinea Pigs from Hong Kong

I have heard of other cases in which guinea pigs seemed to enjoy swimming, and I'm open to the idea. But they didn't plop their poor pigs in a full bath tub with no way to get out. Of course they're...

Ly, I used to be an active member of the Cavy Compendium if that's what you mean - I don't post there anymore as it's changed so much, really not my type of forum anymore. Glad to hear your point of...
  25. Re: Hiya, I need help from anyone who has bred Cavies!! Not an emergency!

But baby guinea pigs drink their mother's milk, right? Does that not have lactose in it? I know several people who have successfully raised healthy babies on evaporated milk when the mother wouldn't...
