Doubt that it is pea eye.......that's not what pea eye looks like. I'll see if I can find pics of my Maya who had a classic case of pea eye.

Ah........GPP knows me too well! They are absolutely adorable and it is a good thing I don't know where you live. I've been known to pignap Abyssinians! Welcome to the Forum.
First of all, how do they know that you have a second level? Don't tell me that they do home visits before permitting you to adopt!
This rescue sounds as though they certainly are behind...
If you can't permanently house them in another part of the house, put their cage on casters (wheels) and move it out of the bedroom at night. I have my cage on wheels in order to move it for...
That's great news! Sparky says, "way to go, Snickers"!
i totally agree. I wouldn't even consider using them for cavies.
I sense that you are misunderstanding the purpose of Bene-Bac gel and probiotics in general. They are not to stimulate the appetite, but to replace the beneficial gut flora that antibiotics destroy....
Absolutely! Administering the probiotics is a preventative measure more so than a curative one. Even if they aren't needed, they won't harm your cavy.
I'm so sorry that you lost your baby girl. It's heartbreaking when you can do no more for them. Be at peace with it in knowing that you gave her love and great care in her short life. Fly free over...
IMHO that is being a good guinea pig mom. My cavies have always had 24/7 access to pellets, hay, and water. Being fed veggies is secondary insofar as nutrition is concerned if they have quality...
Fly free over the Rainbow Bridge, Julio!
@Maplepig........did you ever create a working wheelchair for your cavy? Are you still looking for neoprene? I just came down from a search in my attic with a pair of neoprene "exercise" shorts that...
Thanks for the update! I've been wondering how Scooter is doing. Baby steps, baby steps........
You have some imagination! Thanks for the very entertaining post. lol
I trust that your piggies are truly o.k.? Unfortunately, there are several house plants that are poisonous to cavies.
Sounds like a productive day. At least you now know what the problem is and have a plan moving forward. Best to handsome Scooter!
Good idea! In medicine we call this "watchful waiting".
Average time is about 48 hrs. If she isn't a candidate for surgery, then I guess you are just going to have to live with it. You are lucky that she loves you and is affectionate. Some people would be...
I would also advise ditching the hay rack. i had a hay rack for years and my cavies never consumed enough hay! I finally just gave up on it and adopted the system I use today.
I have a kitten...
Two months is too long for anybody to be in heat. lol
I don't recall if Bella has been evaluated for ovarian cysts? If not, that could be the problem.
Perhaps get her a small stuffed animal on...
@GuineaPigPapa.....you know how I feel as I have already expressed my thoughts and feelings privately. Sparky was devastated by the news of the passing of his brother-in-spirit, and asked me to...
No matter what lies ahead for you, Tam and Punkin, you know that I'm always here for you. Unfortunately, both you and I have been here before. So long as he has fight left in him, you will fight for...
That picture is priceless! Your dog appears to be saying, "please come out and play with me. I'm jealous that you have each other, but I have no one".
That's because there IS no standard dose.....unless you contact the manufacturer who might be able to suggest it. Look through the Q&A and the reviews on Amazon and you will know as much as I do.
...
That is the product that I have always used. It's so easy to administer and and provide an accurate dose. If both boys are on probiotics indefinitely, then the powder would certainly be more...
The link you posted is certainly an interesting option.....and economical as well. But, how do you plan to administer it? You know by now that syringing anything is the only way to ensure that the...
