This is how those hoarding situations start. Looks like this person got one male and one female and still hasn't separated them after the female gave birth. Now there are 4 guinea pigs in a tiny...
It's 6x8 with the 1x2 area. I've tried fleece and don't like it. Too much cleaning and too messy for the wash machine.
I have 7 girls and 1 neutered boy in here.

I had my boy, Yondu, neutered on January 3rd. I thought for sure he was going to die the second night after his operation, but thanks to critical care and some force feeding he pulled through. ...
Parsley it is, thanks!

Just an update (and another question): after the quarantine I introduced my guinea pigs and everything was going fine. I gave them their veggies this morning then came back a few hours later to...
Thank you. I will do exactly that then.
I stopped by my local animal shelter this week because they had new guinea pigs (they get guinea pigs maybe once every few months). There was an adorable little girl there who was extremely scared...
That cage is pretty wild! How do you clean it with the tops on? I added a loft to my cage, but took it down after 4 weeks of not being used.
I have 7 girls and found the 2 grid width too narrow so I made this 6x4 attached to a 2x4 on Saturday. Also not a fan of fleece.

I've been doing this for a week now with zucchini and so far have a 25% success rate. One of them finally started eating it yesterday, but the other three still have no interest.
Other than hay and pellets, just green or red leaf lettuce and baby carrots, they won't eat anything else. So far they've rejected zucchini, cilantro, tomatoes, green peppers, and celery.
I'm new to fleece too. My problem is when I try to use a brush and dustpan to spot clean, the brush sticks to the fleece and just bunches it up.
I was just looking online at their Christmas fleece and they have the Grinch and the Peanuts gang, I might have to go get some Christmas themed ones!
Thanks everyone. I will keep you posted on the final cage and when I actually get to bring the piggies home.
Hey everyone! I've had 9 male guinea pigs throughout my lifetime, but haven't has a GP for around 9 years now. I've been wanting to get more the past two years, but my landlord wouldn't let me. Well...
It depends on personalities also, some pigs just don't get along...I had two boars and decided to get a third one, they fought everytime they got near each other so they are permanently separated....
The main reason I wish I could house them together is there are two female babies for adoption here in Montana:

How long until you try re-introducing them? My two (Tex and Art) were together for two years, then I got Gabe and they were fine for about a week then they started fighting. I got Gabe a friend...
I wish I could house my 4 boars together, did yours ever fight? Should I try introducing mine again? Is a two to two introduction possible?
Do they mean what I think they mean when it says they'll only hold them until Christmas?? If that's the case, you should definitely get them, plus they are very cool.
People in South America have been eating guinea pigs for forever, even before the Europeans came over here. It's not sick, they needed the protein and the food, it's just a way of life.
My friend's guinea pig recently had babies (a pet store sold them a pregnant female) and they were trying to give away the males. I took one of them because I recently got a third guinea pig (Gabe)...
