Thank you for your kind thoughts.
  2. Lethargy: Re: Sick pig! Pig acting slow, trembling, does not want to eat

Thank you for asking. I guess it was her turn to leave, she went peacefully at about 3:30M Monday. I think she was 5 so that seems early to me. Now her cagemate Pumpkin is left, who is not depressed...
  3. Lethargy: Re: Sick pig! Pig acting slow, trembling, does not want to eat

Thank you BPatters, there are no emergency vets in my area so I am trying a little bit of Critical Care and keeping an eye on her. Will get to a vet asap in the AM. I will send an update.
  4. Lethargy: Re: Sick pig! Pig acting slow, trembling, does not want to eat

Your first post about it apparently didn't come through.

She's obviously sick, but not obviously dying. Guinea pigs routinely live to seven or eight. She needs to see an exotic vet ASAP.

Bedding: Re: Wood pellets or uhaul

Cage: Re: Let's see your cage Pictures please.

Please be careful with that log. If it the one I am thinking of it is full of sugar and the guinea pigs may eat too much of it and have health issues like diabetes. It is a great space for your girls!

    General: Re: Fleece or Bedding?

I have to say that for me fleece over wood pellets has proven to be the best bedding solution. You can easily shake out the fleece or spot clean and the wood pellets last a long time, maybe 2 months...

Keeping Warm: Re: URGENT! Power outage

GP's can deal with cold much better than heat, so use a blanket to partially cover their cage and let them burrow into loose fleece if you have some. As long as your house stays around 60 Farenheit...
  13. Exercise: Re: Should piggies be going up people size stairs?

One of my girls runs up the stairs no problem and always has, the other one does not like it so she is carried LOL

Chat Re: how to make a grid bunk bed?

I made mine by bending a grid in half for each one and then zip tying just the top part so I can lift them out of the way when cleaning the cage. It's kind of tricky to bend the grid without breaking...
