Litter Training: Re: NEW cage - litter box?

Do you have his old cage bottom? Or look on craigslist for a cheap store cage, and use that bottom as his kitchen, a larger rubbermaid bin bottom-if it's bigger, it won't flip.

General: Main screen is in metric

How do I get the main screen to display in feet and inches? Mine is showing in metric, and even tho I've had Guinea pigs for a while, I always check cage size to make sure I meet or exceed cage size.

Cleaning: Re: What to clean old with

If you soak the water bottle nozzle in vinegar, it will be fine. Vinegar is acidic, and kills germs effectively. Even the grids are fine is you rinse them with vinegar, but I would suggest putting...

    Size: Re: 3x7 or 4x5?

I have a 3 ft x 6 ft cage, and I will say wider is nicer, but makes it much harder to catch the piggies when you want to get them out or clean. So unless your cage is on the floor, and you can step ...

Upper Levels: Building a 2 level cage

I decided to go with a straight C&C cage so I can stack them and save space. The cages are 2 1/2 grids wide by 4 grids long. My problem: I used zip ties instead of the connectors. Does using the...

Grids Re: Okay to use zip ties?

You want to use the zip ties that are at least 8 inches long, because they are thicker and stronger. When you make the floor with grids and zip ties, just make sure the connection is to the side,...

Introductions: Re: Single Girl - Adopting Again?

I think it's up to the individual pigs, more than gender. I would have a back-up plan in place in case they didn't get along. I drove 5 hrs to get a friend for my Daisy, who had lived alone all her...

C&C: Re: Up to 41 grids

I have a vinyl covered sheet of plywood under my cage, which I made from white wire shelving for strength. If you put grids under the base, it makes the cage more sturdy. My cage is on a table, so...
