Eyes: Re: Little Bear's ouchie eye

I can't even tell you how happy this makes me feel. I do believe it's because he's feeling better, he's got a buddy he loves, and he's much more comfortable in his surroundings.

    This is all...

    Hay: Re: KMS Bluegrass hay

Not sure where the orchard grass I've been getting through Oxbow is from geographically, but it's been soft and green and perfect.

    Hay: Re: KMS Bluegrass hay

I've already initiated a return. I've already ordered a few bags of orchard grass hay. They seem to like that already anyway.
  5. Pellets: Re: Are Oxbow pellets still considered a good brand?

I believe I just mistakenly got Western Timothy from KMS, when I ordered bluegrass. I've already initiated a return. It's dry, brown, very dusty and terrible. Not something I will ever feed my boys.

    Hay: KMS Bluegrass hay

Would any of you happen to have a picture of KMS Bluegrass hay? I just made my first order, 10lbs. It wasn't exactly cheap to get it here in Canada.

The reason I ask is because I opened...
  7. Bedding: Re: My report after switching from shredded paper to aspen bedding.

I have used nothing but fleece in my cage and pen for years. I have four bedding changes and my pigs get a complete change every 48 hours.

It sounds like the best thing for you would be...

Great shot showing how big they really are. Mine are supposed to arrive Tuesday!
  9. Sad: Re: It's been a year since you were abandoned in a fried chicken box

Hard to believe it's been a year already. As I've said previously, Bruin got the love and care with you in just a few short weeks that he likely had never gotten. He knew he was important to...

Eyes: Re: Little Bear's ouchie eye

You may wish to keep an eye on Little Bear as well. Usually when a pig that's normally docile begins to harass another pig, the pig being picked on may not be feeling well.
  14. Conditions: Re: Managing osteoarthritis in back legs

I used glucosamine on two of my senior boars, Pooper and Sly. In the last six months of his life, Poopers left hind leg turned in on itself, and seemed to pain him especially on damp cool days. ...
  15. Re: Meet Georgie, Our Guinea Pig - Jewish Journal

I did not see a way in that article to comment. That's too bad, as I wanted to help her with whoever has misinformed her about pairing pigs.
  16. Re: New to the forum but not to guinea pigs

Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you have plenty of stories to tell! Thank you so much for the pigtures, we really do love them here.

11 years is a fantastic life, and I'm sure it was down to...
  17. Congested: Re: Info please about nasal polyps in piggy with presumptive URI

I am so very sorry, ItsaZoo. I had no idea you had lost Lacey. My sincere condolences from myself, Leo, and Simon.

I have made the switch. I ordered a 10lb box of bluegrass hay from KMS...

  19. Videos: Re: Help me with homework: clips of piggies running for cover

I do apologize, I wanted to help out but never been recording my pigs when they've done that!
  20. How Many: Re: Next step to take? Lonely guinea pig.

No, unfortunately. I've only ever had boars so I've never needed to. There are however plenty of members here who have had the procedure done, and could hopefully offer you advice. At 8 months old...
  21. Congested: Re: Info please about nasal polyps in piggy with presumptive URI

This is EXACTLY the discussion I had with my vet tech a couple of days ago. I have had a couple of good, nice green and soft bags of Timothy from Oxbow lately, but I had not so great hay all summer...
  22. Sick: Re: Guinea pig labored breathing and coughing

How is he doing today? Any positive progress?
  23. How Many: Re: Next step to take? Lonely guinea pig.

You could really do either or. How old is the little man?

I have never had a problem bonding boars, but I've always taken the time to do it right. The easiest thing as far as bonding goes,...
  24. Congested: Re: Info please about nasal polyps in piggy with presumptive URI

Personally, and this is just my two cents, do a trial switch to Oxbow orchard grass hay and use only that for a couple of weeks. I'm probably going to switch to that permanently myself for a...
  25. Sick: Re: Guinea pig labored breathing and coughing

Poor little fella. Yeah, it may take a few days for him to feel better. Just make sure he's eating and drinking enough. I believe you already know the drill with a sick pig. Benebac, syringe...
