    Injury: Re: Chippy Eye Removal

Very good news that the surgery went well, barbaramudge . Also glad to see that Chippy is up and around and seems to be doing OK. I will be keeping tabs on this thread looking for more good news.

    Re: Display problems

The last thing I could suggest is a different browser. I'm not sure if Apple allows you to install a different browser, such as Google Chrome. But if it does, it might be worth a shot.

    I just...

    Re: Display problems

If there's a way to clear the cache on your phones browser, try that. I use Android also and I know that I can clear cache from there. It may be that simple on yours too.

Frustrated: Re: Found abandoned guinea pigs

So very happy to hear the good news! Little Bear hit the jackpot when you took he and his brother in!
  6. Size: Re: How Many Piggies Can Be Housed in here?

I have two boars. They are in a 40sq foot indoor enclosure and they absolutely love the room. I would definitely say keep it small as they'll enjoy having whatever room they have to run.
  7. General: Re: Guinea pig sneezing more than usual

You may just have dusty hay. You could also have dry air in the house. If her breathing is fine, there no labouring, and there is no discharge from the eyes or nose she's probably just fine.

  8. Water: Re: Guinea Pig struggling to drink from water bottle. Nozzle is too big?

I use something just like this as a travel water bottle for my pigs when they have to go to the vet. It's more geared for hamsters and may be just what you need.

Whereabouts are you located? Country, City or state. Not your actual address

    Bloated: Re: Gripe Water?

It looks like the dosage you are giving should be fine. Little Remedies appears to be the same as Ovol.

    Bloated: Re: Gripe Water?

Use the simethicone. Not only is it recommended, it's one of the most important items you should keep in a piggy emergency kit.

It should be the infant simethicone, however. You can get no name...

    Oh.

Oh no. I don't have any words. I am so, so sorry. I was positive he'd be ok. I was waiting to hear good news tonight and this was NOT what I expected.

    Sneezing: Re: Simon's Medical Thread.

Just a quick update on the floofmonster:

He went through 10 days of azithromycin without a hitch. The poop soup as a probiotic worked wonders, and there were absolutely no issues with his appetite...

Not Eating: Re: Friar Tuck's medical thread

I have not seen that personally, but if the right side of his mouth is irritated it wouldn't surprise me.

Not Eating: Re: Friar Tuck's medical thread

I was afraid this would happen. This is exactly what we were talking about before, about being on critical care for an extended period of time. If he doesn't eat normally and his teeth don't wear...

Not Eating: Re: Friar Tuck's medical thread

What I always did, and I know it's gross but it is what it is, I took a healthy poop (green cecal one if I could which was exceedingly rare) and squished it up. I added about 4 or 5 mls of warm water...
  19. Conditions: Re: Male guinea pig struggling to poop

I've had a couple of pigs do something similar. One of my current boars, Leo, does this. My dearly departed Scooter used to do something similar. He would raise his bum in the air and then...

Not Eating: Re: Friar Tuck's medical thread

I should also add that I also bought new water bottles for Punkin and Scooter (Punkin also stopped drinking, but mostly due to pain) and it also had no effect.

Look back on your weights for Friar...

Not Eating: Re: Friar Tuck's medical thread

Scooter. He went off his water bottle for months when he got sick. Even when he was feeling much, much better, it took weeks for him to drink normally again. The first time he began drinking again...
  22. Fleece: Re: Is pee passing thru uhaul liner normal?

For me, it's pretty normal. My boys LOVE to pee in the corner where their hay is, and it always soaks through there. Usually, but not always under their houses too.

    Their bedding is changed...
  23. Vegetables: Re: Can guinea pigs eat broccoli and broccoli leaves?

Can they be? Yes. Should they be? They can cause gas and bloating, which can be very serious and even fatal for a pig if not detected and treated. As such, I would not feed them to my pigs.

Infection: Re: Neck lump in elderly guinea pig

Could it possibly be a cyst? She DID say it grew a lot overnight, and only noticed it a few days ago. Do lipomas grow that quickly?
