Dominance: Re: 3 Male guinea pigs chasing new male

How big are your cages? If you have c&c cages you could always put the cages vertically and save some room.

Re: Hello! Piggies Arriving on Monday

Reading the reviews, that cage doesn't look good. It also doesnt look quite big enough for two piggies. I would create a c&c cage. It can be cheap depending on if you're willing to make your own.

Wood Pellets/Chips: Re: when do pellets need changing?

I have the same question as well. I'm using pellets in a 1x2 space and a 2x4 space. So far the larger space is way fine. But the 1x2 kitchen is my question. I put the pellets in at the end of July....

    Conditions: Re: Pregnant guinea?

Looks like a big piggy but it's hard to tell through pictures.
Guinea pigs get pregnant easily and quickly if not careful. Keep them separated and weigh her daily. Have an emergency vet ready in...
  10. What breed?: Re: Discovering your Piggy's breed/colors/pattern

Caramel, the Aby, is so much more loving and cuddly than Apple. I don't want to pick favorites of my children... but he loves when I pet him instead of running away... like his sister (unless food is...

    Bonding: Re: Resource credibility?

That sounds very stressful for a guinea pig! They probably give up and are waiting for doom to fall... And she thinks that "taming."
Treats are the best way to tame. Having lap time is great,...

Re: New and looking for tips

Look at the shop on here! There are lots of cage idea and parts to order.
There is a cheaper route though, you could buy Coroplast (corrogated plastic) from a hardware store and grids from a...
  18. Size: Re: Smaller cage, or surrendering a guinea pig.

If you have room for a 2x4 or 2x5, go ahead and do that! You don't have to separate them if you give them that amount of space.

Where to Order?: Re: Where to buy treats, snacks etc

I only give my piggies these every once in a while. They're the better treats out there but, like chocolate for us humans, always in moderation.

Bonding: Re: Introducing two males, any tips?

First make sure both are males! Accidents and misexing is a common problem.
Second, putting them together and taking them about is not good for bonding. They essentially "reset" everytime and it...

Oxbow has a lot of healthy treat options. They have 5 or 6 different flavoured ones that are heart shaped. My pigs love the apple and banana one, the mint one, and the mixed veggies one. They also...

Re: Pigs chewing on Midwest ramp cover?

What's the ramp cover made out of? I have to cover my ramp with fleece. They don't eat fleece lol
Mine are real big chewers even though I spoil them with things to chew also.
  25. Vet Costs: Re: Guinea Pig Insurance: Yay or nay? And who?
