  1. Bonding: Re: New Baby Cavy - Adding to my existing piggies?

    Silly question, but...........

What's stopping you? You DID have 4 girls before. :D

    No disrespect intended.
  2. Bonding: Re: New Baby Cavy - Adding to my existing piggies?

    URI: Re: Some URI concerns

I am so sorry for your loss. Sometimes, a URI can take them so fast and nothing you do can save them. Its heartbreaking, especially when he was so young.

    Rest in peace, Alex.

  7. Bonding: Re: New Baby Cavy - Adding to my existing piggies?

What an adorable little nugget! She's SO cute!

Lots of good advice here, I've nothing to add except to echo @spy9doc 's sentiment. Enjoy her as a baby. It will NOT last long. Even though Punkin...
  8. Weight: Re: Is this the end? Guinea pig has slowly stopped eating, dropped weight suddenly

Oh, I was afraid of that. Afraid that he was that far gone.

I'm so sorry. I know how much you loved him.

    Rest in peace, Magneto.
  9. Weight: Re: Is this the end? Guinea pig has slowly stopped eating, dropped weight suddenly

Get him in to the vets quicker if you can. If they're cavy savvy, they will understand what an emergency is and how time is critical. It may or may not be malocclusion, but if he isn't eating you of...

Thank you for taking this little fella in. Obviously we would love a name and a pic of the face to put it with!

Looks like you have a pretty fair plan of action to start with. Off the top of my...

Behavior: Re: Guinea Pig’s Hind Leg

Looks normal to me. Every pig I've ever had, has done this to some extent or other.

    Behavior: Re: Luke's Medical Thread

I don't want it to seem like I'm giving you a kick in the seat of the pants, but you DO need to know.....

Illness in Guinea pigs often spreads very quickly, and oftentimes if a pig is showing...

    Behavior: Re: Luke's Medical Thread

A lethargic pig is often a sign of an ill pig. If he were mine and was that lethargic and it was abnormal, he would be at the vets ASAP.

Bloated: Re: Bloated or Just Saggy?

4 years old is getting up there in age for a pig, but not overly old yet.

Tell me, do you weigh her regularly? I ask because this is the most important thing for you to be doing regarding the...

    Sick: Re: Sudden weight loss

80 grams in a week is a fair bit of weight to lose. I would certainly be alarmed, and I would certainly be monitoring her more closely for weight loss like that. If she continues to lose, I would...

    C&C: Re: C&c size decisions

You won't regret giving them the most space you can. While it can sometimes make cleaning a challenge, they will be MUCH happier and healthier for it.

Nutrition: Re: Good vitamin C sources?

Sly ADORED his orange slices. He would go absolutely mad for them. Peppers ARE much higher in vitamin C but he was SO into those orange slices. He would get one to keep him occupied while I stripped...

    C&C: Re: Amazon c&c grids

I'm not sure what the grids with mesh are. But you want grids with 9X9 holes. The holes in the 7X7 grids are big enough that a pig can get his head trapped in them.

Cage: Re: New and most popular hidey.

Ohhh, I know what you mean LittleSqueakers. Pooper had a Matchbox hot rod that he loved to carry around in his teeth with him. He was buried with that and Sly has his bell with him.
