    Grids Re: any in-store grids?

KMART! Cheapest (and all grids are safe)
  2. Size: Re: Adding friend, little space to work with...need ideas.

You can't bundle up the fleece like the previous picture, but have one flat layer of fleece over an absorbent layer. Also make sure your fleece is wicking properly, meaning water can pass through.
  3. Size: Re: Adding friend, little space to work with...need ideas.

    No problem :)

Eyes: Re: Cloudy eye/Can't close eye

bpatters, is there any chance the pig is going blind? I know in other animals, the bluish cloudy eyes can signify that.. Just a thought..
  5. Size: Re: Adding friend, little space to work with...need ideas.

You'll need to do introductions and keep them together in that cage, preferably buying another one and attaching them together. Also, while I'm here, it's not healthy for your pig just to be on pee...
  6. Cage: Re: What to do with bored pigs while I wait for the big cage to come?

Make a playpen for them to run around in :) Leave them in it with hay and food and water for however long they want to be in there :)
  7. Sexing: Re: Only a day old, verify genders for me!

1-2 are boys and 3 is a girl I think. Check guinealynx!

    Dominance: Living together

Has anyone ever heard any success stories of having two males and one spayed female? What are my chances of it working out?

    Thanks!

    Rescues: Re: Renaming a rescue?

Yes, many people rename their rescues. It is totally fine :)
  11. Biting: Re: How do you get your guinea pig to stop biting you?

Honestly my answer is time. I know that's not the easiest thing because nobody wants to be patient with the balls of floof, not even me, but it's the truth. Taming can take years, honestly. My...

Bullying: Re: New pigs injuring my older girl!

I think your best option would be to make a 2x4 and put her in there. If you plan to get a boar to go with her, I'd say to move coconut and the boar in the 2x5 and leave the two girls in the 2x4

    Sexing: Re: Female or Male?

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like a male to me.

Bonding: Re: Maybe adopting a baby guniea pig!

Like others said, a trio is not easy with boars. Be prepared to adopt another pig from her if it doesn't work out to get the new comer a friend. In this case, you'd have to buy another whole cage and...
  16. Allergies: Re: My new guinea pig is sneezing a lot, do I need to see a vet?

Does she have any discharge coming from her eyes or nose? It never hurts to see a vet, in my opinion.

Cage: Re: It's time to order a C&C cage

Whichever way you go, always check your local rescues and then go to craigslist. There are a bunch of piggies on bad diets, trapped in tiny pet store cages on there just waiting for someone to save...
  18. Sad: Re: How do I tell my friend that she is neglecting her guinea pigs?

I'd go at it with a casual "Oh, hey, did you know that guinea pigs need....." approach. You can educate her casually without sitting her down like you're teaching a class. Don't tell her she's...

Cage: Re: It's time to order a C&C cage

You sound like you're preparing yourself very responsibly. As far as your questions go, either option would work, even the splitting option as long as they won't be in a 2x2.5 for more than a month...

Hay: Oxbow vs. KMS vs. SPS

Okay so I originally ordered KMS Bluegrass and my boys loved it. Then, since it was cheaper, I decided to go with SPS 2nd cut. I've had it for about 5 months and it is getting very hard, still...

Coroplast: Babyproofing for my c&c cage!

Okay so a couple of days ago, someone told me I could baby proof by using 10" high coroplast on all sides. I thought that was a great idea, but then I thought about the water bottles and how I'd have...

    Loss: Re: Cage Roomates

Make sure she is eating and drinking. The best thing for her would most likely be a new friend.. I am so sorry for your loss. I recently lost my guy too, so I know how you feel.
