Sick: Re: Alternatives to Bene bac?

Ok good, so she is getting extra vitamin C. How long has she been on the meloxicam? I know from personal experience that it can take several days for her to start to benefit from that treatment.

Have you been supplementing her with Vitamin C? You can get Oasis Vitamin C drops at PetSmart or other pet supply places. Just make sure you get the vitamin C and NOT the multivitamin. The...

    Behavior: Re: Behaviour question

Sounds adorable to watch to me, and it sounds an awful lot like the playing that Scooter and Punkin would do. I have never seen a better pair of brothers than they were.

    Absolutely enjoy what...

    Behavior: Re: Behaviour question

My boy Leo (a standard) will rumble up to Simon (also a Lunkarya) put his head up on top of his back from behind. Simon will either start twitching and complain about it, or twitch and run away....

Sick: Re: Alternatives to Bene bac?

You can use acidophilus powder in a pinch. I have used acidophilus capsules and broken them open, mixed a small amount of the powder up with about 2ml HOT water and stirred until it was mixed as it...

    Re: Little Bear

I've said this before. I highly doubt either Bruin, nor Little Bear knew love and kindness and the care of a proper home until you came along. And it's horrible how they came to make the journey to...

    General: Re: Pneumonia

As a rule of thumb, you should weigh each of your pigs once a week. For instance, mine get weighed first thing (7am) on Sunday mornings.

The reason for this, is often times the only way you can...

    Hiding: Re: need some advice

Guinea pigs by nature are fearful creatures. They are prey animals, and literally every other carnivore in the animal kingdom wants to eat them. They are naturally skittish and will remain that...

    General: Re: Pneumonia

With proper care, she most likely will survive just fine.

Baytril is hard on a pigs gut, and it's good to hear that you are giving her benebac. But she may also go off her food, and that's...

General: Re: New pig owner here , any advice

The very first, and most important thing I can give you a tip on is:

Find an exotic vet for them. It's not really a question of IF they will need vet care, but when. You really don't want to...

  22. Weight: Re: Green gunky like vomit on guinea pig

He needs a vet, ASAP. He needs a cavy savvy vet preferably with dental experience. NOT a small animal vet. There is a very good chance he's dealing with malocclusion, and the drool is from pain. ...

  24. Bonding: Re: Older boar constantly pestering young one.

If they settle down and sleep side by side, that's a very positive sign.
  25. Bonding: Re: Older boar constantly pestering young one.
