My boy used to live in a small pet store cage for about a month and a half (filled with wood shavings). 2 weeks ago I built him an alternative cage with fleece in it, and dedicated a part of the cage for the litter and hay ( filled with wood shavings). It's been 2 weeks and I noticed that my boy just peed twice on the fleece in different corners, and pooped once on the fleece. I change the wood shavings every 3 days and the fleece has been there for 10 days.
I'm pretty happy with the
It's been 2 months since I bathed my boy, and he started smelling like pee. So I gave him a bath with Jhonson's baby shampoo ( Gonna get kitten shampoo next time). He was a good boy and behaved wellAnd know he smells like babies !!!!
While I was on my way to the gym, I stopped by a carpenter and asked him about wood shavings... He gave me a big bag that was dust freeBut because of my excitement I forgot to ask him about it's type (aspen-pine...)
I am currently using in in my kitchen area and Peanut went crazy !!! Lots of popcorning !! Does anyone know how to identify the type of wood shavings by color or smell??

My water bottle is really giving me a hard time. It leaks every 7 seconds, I have a coroplast only cage so I stick it to the wall with duck tape. It worked fine a week ago :/ guess I will go buy a new bottle and prey it doesn't leak
It's been almost 16 hours since I put the fleece. My cage is 8.4 sq feet and has a kitchen area full with shavings (no lofts).
Reality: The shavings stick to the fleece, and my boy is only sitting in the kitchen, eating and sleeping in it. Maybe he's not used to fleece. It's really irritating how the shavings stick to the fleece, but I'm going to give it a try this week
P.S: there are no poops nor wees on the fleece, only wood shavings :S
