Every time I clean their cage, Amy and Quinn feel a compulsion to help me. Sometimes I do it when they're in their playpen so I can work without piggy assistance, but if they're in the cage, I can always count on their assistance.
Their home is separated into two distinct parts, kitchen and living area, and they have to go up a ramp and through a door on the kitchen side or onto a step and hop up on the living room side. With all the chaos while I'm cleaning, you'd think they'd go to

Life with my guinea girls has settled into a predictable (some might call it boring) routine...and I love it! I had so much drama with my initial two pigs that I love it now that things have settled into a happy predictable routine.
Mufasa was my first piggy, and the poor little guy had a URI when I bought him, although the signs were so subtle that I brushed them aside until it was too late. I never knew it was possible to get so attached to a cute little creature in just 15 days.

Ever since I went away on a short vacation and switched the girls' living room area over to mattress pads, that's what they've been living on instead of their usual Carefresh.
I keep meaning to change the kitchen side of the cage back to Carefresh because that's where they pee and make the biggest mess, but I just can't bring myself to do it. The pads are so much easier!
Granted, I have a rather odd set-up. The girls are in the equivalent of a 2 1/2 by 3 grid cage, but

I got a Fed Ex box the other day and wondered if it would make a good piggy hideout. It's book-shaped, but larger than a book, so I put some hay in the interior, put it in the girl's swimming pool playpen, and plopped them in.
Quinn seems to have the same American Shorthair affinity for tunnels, tubes, and the like that Borat had, so she checked it out in a flash. Of course that meant that Abby-tude Amy had to follow suit. I've spent a fortune on pigloos, tunnels, hidey houses, and

My pigs have a routine that doesn't vary much from day to day. In the morning, they get their salad and a refresher of hay. Around lunchtime, they go into their playpen, where they remain until the evening (with a huge hay pile and various snacks handed out throughout the day). The playpen is their home away from home, made from a kids' swimming pool and fuilly outfitted with hideys, tunnels, water, and other necessities of happy piggy life. Meanwhile, I spot clean their cages, so they're returned
