Yeah I got the link, saw it on your profile, yes but still got it
My pigs seem to prefer finer cut hay, so my choice is simple. They look at me like "Wtf is this?!" if I try to give them hay which is very stalky haha

Awesome, I'll see if I can find that next time I trek to walmart. I've seen a hamper thing on guinealynx before but it's so big, I have absolutely nowhere I could fit that in my room, or the whole house even . The hay looks good to me, and for $5 I can pull out any brown patches I might find in it.
I can relate to being obsessive about their every action, I still do it, and they're almost 2! I can't imagine what I'll be like if I ever have real kids haha
  3. Part Two (i.e., I tend to ramble and am an insecure cavie owner):

The finer textured hay does have a bit of brown in it (you can see it in the photo where they are sitting in my hatchback) compared to the other, but they still seem to like both, and have been munching off and on all day. As they are just a few feet away from me, and are elevated to my level, and I spend 95% of my home time in this room, I obsess over them a bit and worry when they aren't constantly eating it, but I'm sure it's just in my mind, because I gave them peppers and a carrot and a strawberry just a few hours ago, and they're vegging out in their hut right now. I had a small paper bag with some of the crappy Kaytee hay in it, and Squishy went rooting around in there like he wanted that hay instead, and he was drinking a good bit of water today when I normally don't notice him at the bottle, which just makes me paranoid. I think he likes messing with my head (:
  4. This is the item: Mainstays 36" Hanging Clothes Rack Closet -

I am irked that it's priced so low, as I paid around $27 for it just yesterday. Maybe the online price is out of date, or maybe you will get lucky and find it that price. It was near the hampers and cloth storage cubes, so kind of the domestics/storage department? There were Rubbermaid tubs as well, and the three-section rolling hamper that's shown in the guinealynx link for hay storage in that same area. It's just the right size to fit two bales on their ends, but of course the bales are so heavy (64lb combined for my two) and the base is just a plastic tube frame, that the bales will be sitting on the ground and won't technically be elevated. I think they will be ok, though, as the carpet is springy and the cotton lining is porous, so it's not like they are sitting on a layer of nylon or anything.

Looks like it could work for me! What is that storage unit called, and from what department of Walmart did you pick it up at? I really like KM's hay, but that hay looks very good as well and is MUCH cheaper. I will likely switch over in the beginning of May, our box should be out around then, plus I'll be out for the summer and back home with the parents.
But that storage thing, I could use that now! Great idea. I hate the cardboard box...
