Hey, I saw a picture of your cage with the bent grid in it that has a little fleece curtain that hangs down. What a good idea! I wanted to clear up some floor space but still have hiding spots for my piggies, so I copied your idea and made something similar. My pigs were so happy when I put it in that they started popcorning, they even lie under it together and cuddle. They used to fight over their house since it was enclosed, but I guess they feel more comfortable with a curtain because they can run out anytime.

Anyway, thanks for the idea, it has made two very happy pigs.

I love how your piggy bedspread turned out. Was it difficult to make? I am planning on making one for my new (and hopefully last) cage, which is 3x6 lower and two 2x3 uppers with a 1x2 connector. Any chance you'd be willing to post a how-to on the bedspread?
  3. thanks Vicky, yes the new bedspread turned out pretty well also, the corners are a little wrinkly, the first one thankfully went through the wash well, the zorb didn't fall apart or anything ,the only thing is,the bedspread is taking a lot longer to dry, probably because the procare layer (vinyl).Hopefully it won't get smelly after a while,I'm hoping these will last a long time, but the nice thing is nothing went through the coro at all and the entire bedspread is fairly thin considering it's 3 layers

Hey, the bedspread in the new pic came out good.
Did your layers underneath the fleece workout well?

Your right about the solid; but yours looks so neat and clean!!!
A lot of people overdo their cages with accessories and a pattern but yours is too cute!
  6. I just have a basic Kenmore sewing machine,I bent a few needles though, sewing through the layers,I know,Joann's is addictive,it was hard to just pick a plain colored fleece with all the beautiful patterned choices but I figure I can dress it up with accessories,I'm hoping to make a second bedspread today,so I can wash the first one

What kind of sewing machine do you use?

I got mine at Joann's too.
I'm getting more either tomorrow or Saturday. I can't wait!
I'm not making a bedspread though until my permanent cage is done next month I think.

When I sew mine I'm going to reinforce it a couple inches in if you know what I mean.
Where did you get your fleece?
